While everyone else was painting the Ponte Vecchio, I loved the view of the countryside when looking from the bridge down the Arno River. It was late afternoon with the sun throwing light on the hillside, mountains and one side of the river, leaving the other in shade. Here and there across the hill parts of some of the buildings caught splashes of sun, adding to the drama of this beautiful scene.
