And Rick said "Let there be windows".

A little more framing work and it would be time to call the building inspector for another check. Rick would be off next week so scheduling should be a little easier - or so we thought! A benefit of living in a small town is the fabulous communication network - its a bad thing too but so be it. I heard from a friend that the building inspector was going on vacation next week! A quick call got him in to check the floor framing so we could put down insulation and the sub-floor. Facing off the walls was not going to happen before he went on vacation.

The floor passed inspection on Wednesday!

Saturday our good friend Chris, the electrician came over to put the wiring in the studio. We'll need to dig a ditch to hook it up to the house later. This helped us meet schedules - Rick, and the building inspector's! Rick is off the next 2 weeks to work on my studio (he's a real "keeper" don't ya think!). Thanks so much Chris for helping us on short notice!

We sealed all cracks and then layed down the insulation. The new electric stapler lasted for one row of staples and quit. So much for technology - the mechanical stapler did the trick!

With the floor installed, there was still a last window for the side wall. By Monday afternoon the floor and all windows are installed.

So, what do ya think...we making progress or what?

Put your cursor over the barn and see what happens!

Today I need to pick up my paintings that have been hanging up at a bank for the last 2 months. No sales there but I'm working towards an art show on September 4.

Rick's "ripping" 2x4's in half to face off the walls for insulating. More lumber is being delivered for the ceiling supports tomorrow. Stay tuned for more progress!
